Hudson County Community College, a two-year institution, provides a broad range
of educational opportunities at an affordable cost. Both one-year certificate
and two-year Associate Degree programs are available and all programs offer
students flexibility in choosing a course of study.
All programs include liberal arts and professional/technical courses. In
designing curriculum courses, the faculty at HCCC seeks to offer programs that
anticipate trends in the job market and provide students with relevant
experience that will increase their employability in today's competive job
market.
The College's Career Institute has developed special courses in conjunction with
government, business, labor and industry, and plays a significant role in
economic development for Jersey City and Hudson County.
HCCC provides their educational services at a number of convenientlylocated
centers throughout the County, including HCCC's Bilingual Center in West New
York, N.J. Non-traditional students, individuals seeking a new career, or those
interested in acquiring new skills to advance their current career, can find
flexible courses of study at HCCC. Certificate programs prepare students for
immediate employment or continued study towards an Associate Degree.

country. A survey several years ago ranking colleges offering the best education
for the money ranked New Jersey City University 9th out of 100 public
institutions.
And businesses are discovering that New Jersey City University students have
what it takes too! The school sponsors a Cooperative Education program that has
been recognized as the premier co-op program in New Jersey. Students earn
credit, gain experience, and earn money while working at placements with more
than 150 private and public employers in the New Jersey/NYC area. Many are large
international conglomerates like AT&T, IBM, Ortho, Liz Clairborne, Merrill
Lynch, and Prudential-Bache, while others are moderate to small businesses,
research facilities, governmental agencies, and professional business offices.
A capable, caring faculty combined with a comprehensive array of cutting-edge
computer technology helps this four-year liberal arts college produce thinking
students with the marketable skills and abilities businesses seek in productive
employees.
New Jersey City University is located in the heart of Jersey City, and in many
ways is a microcosm of the entire community. Ethnically diverse, the institution
prides itself in the multi-cultural environment it provides students, an
environment that is very representative of major American urban centers. This
environment helps prepare students well for leadership roles they will assume in
business and in their communities upon graduation.
The College itself makes a significant contribution to the entire community by
developing programs to address the need of various groups within the community.
Examples range from language courses for employees needed by a number of
businesses, to operating the Distance Learning Network linking New Jersey City
University faculty with public high schools through-out Hudson County for
enrichments courses via telecommunications.

arts college in the Jesuit tradition. One of onIv 28 Jesuit colleges and
universities in the U.S., St. Peter's is the only one in New Jersey. Since 1872,
it has upheld the highest traditions of excellence in academic education.
Today, the College offers 34 major programs leading to a bachelor's degree, and
9 majors leading to an associate degree. St. Peter's also offers a Master of
Arts degree in Educational Administration and Supervision, Teaching, and Urban
Education, and the Master of Business Administration in Management Information
Systems.
Total enrollment at St. Peter's is 3,561 students including the 432 students
enrolled at the branch campus at Englewood Cliffs in Bergen County. The branch
campus was established primarily to serve the needs of working adults from
nearby corporate parks and medical centers who want to pursue undergraduate and
graduate degrees through evening and weekend study.
The Jersey City campus is as diverse as the City itself, with students born in
65 different countries, and significant Hispanic, African-American, and
Asian-American student populations.
The school has a student/faculty ratio of only 13:1, and most students choose
St. Peter's due to its tradition of excellence in education and concern for the
education of the whole person.
St. Peter's College is actively involved in providing cooperative education
opportunities for students, and can arrange for professional internships for
students as early as their freshman year.
